Laurens Court were formed by schoolmates Dylan Abbas, Sam Greenhow and Morgan Punton, with the ambition to create something out of the ordinary. Drawing on influences such as Sonic Youth, Radiohead and Tom Waits the group constructed their contemporary, grungy and experimental sound and style.

The trio wrote, recorded and produced their debut album ‘Introduction’ in just 3 weeks in 2017 before adopting their name from the street on which the album was recorded: Laurens Court; swiftly followed by recruitment of drummer Jack Otty and bassist Ryan Welsh.

With a busy schedule of gigs across the region over the last 2 years the band started forging their darkly twisted and all-absorbing performances that has since gained the 5-piece a reputation for being one of the North East’s most exciting new acts to experience live, earning them the title of “Best Local Band of 2018” by Darkus Magazine and being selected as Spotlight UK’s “Top 12 Artists To Check Out In 2019”.
